AV Encoder

AV Encoder

The DM range of AV encoders can convert either 2 (DM22T) or 4 (DM42T) av sources to DVB-T or DVB-C format for onward distribution or interfacing with one of the idt MiniStreamers.

The signals are first encoded to MPEG2 then transmitted on either VHF or UHF using the built in up-convertor. The output level from the DMx2T can be as high as 100 dBμV (90–100 dBμV) so that it can feed entire networks without the need for any external amplifier. Encoder Bitrate can be set between 1 MBit/s & 9 MBit/s or this can be left in Auto mode. In Auto mode the modulator available Bitrate will be divided between the encoders up to a maximum of 13.5 MBit/s.
